These Terms of Service govern your use of Sophia, an SMS-based AI scheduling assistant operated by the Sophia team, based in El Paso, Texas. By signing up or using Sophia, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service
Sophia is a subscription-based SMS assistant that helps you manage your Google Calendar via text message. You interact with Sophia entirely through SMS. There is no app to download and no dashboard beyond a basic account management page.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to use Sophia. By signing up, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Subscription and Billing
Sophia is billed as a monthly recurring subscription. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account page or by texting Sophia to manage your account. No refunds are issued for partial months.
4. SMS Consent
By signing up, you consent to receive automated SMS messages from Sophia. This includes responses to your requests, daily schedule briefings, reminders you have set, and account or billing notifications. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Text STOP to opt out at any time. Text HELP for assistance.
5. Google Calendar Access
Sophia requires you to connect a Google account to read and create calendar events on your behalf. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google account settings. Revoking access will prevent Sophia from managing your calendar but will not cancel your subscription.
6. AI Limitations
Sophia uses AI to interpret your messages. AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or misunderstand your intent. You are responsible for verifying important events directly in Google Calendar. Sophia is not liable for scheduling errors resulting from AI misinterpretation.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Sophia to send spam, harass others, attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the service, or violate any applicable law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Sophia is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or due to factors outside our control.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sophia shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Sophia, including missed appointments or scheduling errors.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via SMS before they take effect. Continued use of Sophia after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in El Paso County, Texas.
